I’m delighted you found me! I’m Sophie, an independent celebrant passionate about crafting beautiful, bespoke ceremonies that truly reflect your values, wishes, and beliefs. 


Whether it’s a wedding, funeral, or another life milestone, I offer a warm, joyful, and uplifting approach. Your ceremony will be filled with what is important to you, your ceremony done your way!

 In 2024, my fiancé and I attended a wedding fair and discovered the magic of celebrant-led ceremonies. 


I adored the concept that ceremonies could be personal, quirky, and creative including aspects I had never thought of such as; rituals, a rite of passage, and, readings of my choice.

But when we visited the local registry office in Cumbria to make it legal, we were faced with just three standard ceremony scripts. It felt flat, impersonal, and far from the meaningful experience we hoped for.

 

I wanted something fun, creative, bespoke, and, most of all, beautiful.

The pivotal moment: my father-in-law’s funeral. The service was led by a celebrant whose warmth and compassion left a lasting impression on me. In a small, almost comical mix-up, she accidentally handed us a wedding celebrant card - apologizing profusely. But that simple mistake turned out to be fate.

Curious, I explored her website and discovered the Heart-Led Celebrant Training School. In that moment, something clicked - I knew I’d found my true calling!

From Nurse to Celebrant

Caring With Compassion

As a former Registered Nurse, and over 14 years of experience in the Health and Social Care sector, caring comes naturally to me. I’ve always been drawn to people’s stories, to listening with compassion and understanding. My experience has shaped who I am today: kind, inclusive, joyful, and deeply present in every interaction.

Training and Full Circle Moments

In April 2025, I began my training with Heart-Led Celebrants. Veronika, the celebrant who officiated my father-in-law’s funeral, is now set to officiate our own wedding ceremony this autumn. It feels like a full-circle moment - and one I cherish.

My job is to reminisce on your behalf!

 As a proud bookworm, I believe stories are the soul of who we are. They shape our sense of self, deepen our empathy, and weave meaningful connections between us. To me, storytelling isn’t just a craft - it’s a beautiful way of honouring life itself. 


Story-telling is a fundamental part of what makes us human, and that's why I'm passionate about what I do!

 I cherish the moments that feel like home - laughing with friends, sharing quiet time with my cat, cooking something comforting, or curling up with a feel-good rom-com that wraps around me like a warm hug. I’m drawn to creativity and connection, whether through crafting, journaling, DIY projects, meaningful rituals, or a shared laugh. It’s those small, soulful moments that make life truly rich.
